ABOUT
Jonathan Harris has a degree in French and German from the University of Cambridge, and spent time using these languages including a season as moniteur in a colonie de vacances in France, and a semester at a high school in Germany. During his business career he spent four years in Japan, and learnt the language to a point where he was able to join an amateur orchestra as the only gaijin (foreigner) in the band. He is now learning Italian. These experiences mean that he has a good understanding of the difficulties of learning a foreign language, and some of the best strategies for overcoming them.

After university Jonathan worked firstly in the shipping industry which led to some years in the offshore oil & gas sector. Thereafter he ran his own business as editor and publisher of a magazine Young Company Finance which reported on investments in young high growth businesses. His career has covered a broad range of business issues at different managerial levels, and he is well placed to help students develop their English skills for use in a business context.

Jonathan is qualified by TEFL.org as a Teacher of English as a Foreign Language.
